Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros
Zoo Tampa is lucky enough to have two species of rhinos: the Southern white rhino and the Greater one-horned rhino. It’s worth your time to go see the Greater One-Horned Rhino, just for their skin because it looks like armor. They are commonly called Indian rhinos and are endangered species.
Pygmy Hippos
Sometimes people get hippos and rhinos mixed up. But at Zoo Tampa you can see the big differences between them. Pygmy hippos are smaller than the Nile hippo. Pygmy hippos only stand about 3 feet tall at the shoulder and only weigh up to about 600 pounds.
Aldabra Giant Tortoise
Zoo Tampa goes from the small rhino all the way up to the giant tortoise. They average around 4 or 5 feet long and can live to be 152 years old.
